Children are a wonderful thing in this world. It is a treat to see their smiling faces, and enjoyment of something we think is mundane in our lives. Children are so full of life and no worries and concerns. It is a fantastic feeling to witness a child’s achievement at something; the excitement they express in their smiling faces and twinkling eyes. These are just a few of the familiar faces I see most days, and I will miss them greatly as I move forward in my career in photography.

Today I attended a photography event with my good friend Terry Lee. It was overwhelming as I walked in and was surrounded by stands of many things photography based – the obvious technological items (SLRs, lenses, battery packs, memory cards), albums, printing companies, camera bag choices, and lots and lots of people – some with their prized SLR (myself included). I just didn’t know where to go or what to do first!
But I stumbled my way around and….got my hands on a stunning D3x, with the absolutely gorgeous, stunning, very sleek 14-24mm lens. It was amazing, so wide, and I knew it was going to be wide (of course as it is a 14mm), but it still surprised me. I also tried out a pretty nice D700 – a possible addition to my collection!.
I couldn’t resist all the exciting things to look at, and did make a couple of purchases! I will be adding to my equipment again pretty soon; I’m in a buying mood – always a good thing for clients…watch this space!

This gorgeous little bundle of joy is adoarble and so lovable. She comes straight over and gets to know you, eager for attention. I happened to have my trusty D90 with my Sigma 18-50mm – perfect for caputuring the life of this little soul. Enjoy the photos, I’m certain I’ll be photographing her on a regular basis as she grows older with her family of humans and cats!

Over a period of time I have had the opportunity to photograph some young children that I get to spend time with every week. I absolutely love the way children can make your day brighter just by observing them being themselves; they are completely care free, smile at the silliest things, and each have an amazingly infectious laugh. These are just a few of the images I have captured, and no doubt there will be many more, as I simply cannot put my D90 down when there are people around me to photograph.

I had the greatest opportunity presented to me when a friend of mine asked me to photograph her so she could give some professional photos to her other half for his birthday; and what a lucky boy he was with that present! I was able to use the location of her house to make it easier for her to feel comfortable in her own home while posing for something she was little nervous about. She relaxed very quickly, and by adjusting settings on my D90 to compensate for the pretty poor lighting conditions, I got some results I was very satisfied with. Using a keylight created some amazing effects, and tweaking just a little in post-editing….these are the final results.

I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen for myself on the morning I woke up and looked out of the window…it had snowed in England! Something of a rarity in this little place, but something so beautiful, and fairly close to Christmas! I only wish it would snow a little more. I just had to post these up, too pretty to keep all to myself! These were taken at an early bird time of about 7am, so barely touched, fresh snow…could a scene like that BE any prettier!

I recently went on a long weekend to Worcester and had a lovely time exploring the sights, seeing an art museum – which I unfortunately was not allowed to photograph in, walking along the river, visitng a few historic places. Just by the river was this beautiful water feature, and before the weather turned cold and frosty, there was a stunning autumn season which had gorgeous coloured leaves scattering the ground. I couldn’t resist photographing it! Below is a castle near to Worcester which is no longer in use, but the view from the top was amazing! Thankfully it was a clear ish day, so I could see for miles out! It was one of those places that you really had to be there to appreciate the shear sight of it.

I was on a short family break and took the opportunity to photograph the sights. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to document the diverse surroundings.

I had the pleasure to attend a close friend’s birthday celebrations and offered to photograph the event to document this special day. Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves, and I managed to capture some great moments!
